In lesser, but related news, WB also shelved the sequel to the 2020 Scooby-Doo movie (Scoob!), titled Scoob!: Holiday Haunt.

Bizarre, to say the least. I'm assuming they'll get some sort of screening release "at the fans' request" like the Snider cut did.

It sounds like it is a tax write-off.

From what I read, if it does become a tax write off, they can’t reverse it. Which means they can’t release it. Ever.

This will be the new Holiday Special. Bootlegs will be everywhere. Because you know it only takes one person at WB to smuggle out a digital copy.

"smuggle" - hahah, i have an image of the Hamburglar stuffing the "digital copy" in his coat, and comically walking through the lobby with 1s and 0s falling out of his pockets.

Not sure where to put this, but the new sequel to the 1989 movie (set before Batman Returns), Batman Resurrection, is phenomenal. Two of comic Batman's oldest and greatest foes appear, as do characters from Batman Returns and even the Batman 1989 comic, and the few lingering plot holes of the original film are addressed. John Jackson Miller may be the overall king of licensed novel spinoffs. Definitely read it.
