HAHAHAAH!

yeah, i use the 'proper' "LEGO" or "LEGO Bricks" when talking to a-holes... i mean AFoLs, but when talking to 'normals' i call them "Legos" because that's what everyone in the goddamn world knows them as no matter how hard the lego company and the adults who account for at most 10% of worldwide LEGO sales try to tell us otherwise.

I call 'em Legos even when I'm talking to snobby elitist AFOLs. Because everybody calls them Legos.

It's like the pretentiousness of Star Trek fans insisting on being called Trekkers instead of Trekkies. I'm a Trek fan. I'm a Trekkie. Trekkies are joyful. TrekkERS are douches.

ZING!!!

I'm thinking you guys are right. It'll take me many hours per set and, combined with the multiple beers, it'll take me a bit longer. I'll be sure to put up pics when I have 'em finished up.

LEGOs.

Took a quick look. Didn't see anything I wanted, but we ordered the Friends Cafe for the kids. Normally $30, but it was marked down to $11.

Edit: Upon further searching, I got the Alien Conquest Alien Mothership for $20. Now the only thing I don't have from the Alien Conquest theme is helicopter.

check your local walmarts - they've clearanced most of the first wave of Harry Potter. i snagged Hagrid's Hut for $20 (50% off). they also reduced the price on a lot of the other HP sets - Hogwart's is $90 down from $130, Knight Bus was $25 down from $35, Forbidden Forest is $7 reduced from $11.

I've finished my Millenium Falcon, R2, and I finished the Executor today. I'll get some pictures of as soon as I can or possibly after I finish the Star Destroyer. The Executor is fucking AWESOME! I measured it at over 4 feet long.

so, how long did it take you for each one?

Modular Fence/Wall Extension for 10228 "Haunted House"

After a Eurobricks post by user Murdoch17, I was greatly inspired to try my hand at my own modular fence. Originally I had intended to follow suit with the 'standard' set forth by the original poster, but realized that the gate that comes with the Haunted House set wasn't integrated into his version, and that was my main focus. To that end, my version is completely different from the original inspiration. (I hope he doesn't mind).

Each module in the LDD file is a distinct 'Group' accesible in the 'Groups' palette for ease of selection/manipulation. The 'modularized' version of the original gate/fence/wall is included in the file, as well as my version that's broken up into three parts - the central 'Gate' module, and the two lengths of wall on either side with the tapered fence.

That Haunted House may be my first non-Star Wars purchase in over a decade for LEGO.

I don't have an exact time frame since it was broken up by several breaks but the Artoo I want to say took maybe 5 hours. The Executor didn't take long either since I built it in the sections as labeled on the bags which is something I have NEVER done before. I prefer to just make a big ass pile and go from there but I just didn't have room on my dining room table to spread out 3,000 pieces. I'm in the process of building the UCS Star Destroyer right now and, since it was pre-owned and put together once, all of the pieces were in ziploc bags so I had no choice but to make a big pile on the table. Thankfully I was able to remove about a hundred or so large pieces that are used for the exterior and that made it manageable.
