The only reason I know the Oscars were last night, is because my wife showed me a clip of Ahnuld Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito doing a bit where they called out “Batman” Michael Keaton in the audience.

Best Pic winner Anora is on Hulu/D+ so I thought I’d watch it to see what the rumpus was. After watching it, I can only assume that no other movies were released in 2024 and this movie was chosen by default having no other competition in the category. Similarly, I can only assume no other women acted in any movie last year and she won the Oscar by default. It wasn’t a BAD movie. But it was an entirely pointless movie with no satisfactory conclusion.
I also fail to understand how this qualifies as a comedy as there wasn’t a single funny moment anywhere in the movie.

Probably just going to hand it to Tom Cruise. I have actively avoided Tom Cruise movies since the mid-90s. I was tricked into seeing Mission: Impossible 2 in 1999, and the last thing I saw him in was his cameo in Austin Powers. I hope someone who deserves the Oscar for best stunt gets it, and not that douche bag.

Before there are even any nominations for the Oscars, or Golden Globes, or however many other film awards there are at this time of year, I’m going to make this bold prediction; If Sydney Sweeney doesn’t get nominated or win for her role in that boxing movie, I predict President KiddieFuck and his zealot cult base will throw the biggest tantrum of all time, claiming the Oscars are rigged, and DEI and Woke, and call for their permanent ban, and Trump will sign an executive order making him the official sole judge for the Oscars going forward which the Supreme Court will then validate.
