Marvel Zombies: Army of Darkness

Post by Diabolical »

Issue #1 comes out on Tuesday and I'm surprised I haven't heard much about this.
I missed an issue or two of Marvel Zombies, but what I did get was pretty cool, so I'll probably pick up this mini.

Anyone?

I totally bypassed Marvel Zombies when it came out - not at all my cup of tea. I have though heard that it was pretty good. Much like last time, however, I'll be letting this one go by. I'm trying not to add too many titles, but have decided I'm going to jump back on Iron Man for awhile.

You're taking the biggest douche at Marvel (fictional characters, not real people) over Zombies?

There was a story arc in Ultimate Fantastic Four that teased a cross over with the regular Marvel U. It wasn't the regular 616 Marvel U. It was one inhabited by Zombies and the only zombies left were all the super hero ones. Robert Kirkman ( famous zombie story teller) came in and did a quirky Mini series follow up because the UltFF stroy line had sold so well. The Zombies all eat Galactus and get the Power Cosmic. Now they are doing sequels and spin offs and crossovers all over the place. it's like a little sub culture for fans. Even doing Diamond Select statues, fans are customizing their Marvel Legends, etc. It's an okay read, but nowhere near as brilliant and entertaining as everyone is screaming about.

I thought the whole thing was so weird and fun.
I really loved the covers that played on classic covers.
